The area of the park about 80 acres, and its gate facing the main street of Charles de Gaulle in Cairo. There on the west bank of the Nile and Cairo there are streams and waterfalls water caves and wooden bridges, lakes and birds displayed. It also contains a museum was built in 1906 and contains a rare collections of animals, birds and reptiles stuffed. The estimated number of visitors to the park about two million visitors a year.
The park was closed in February 19, 2006, fearing for their animals and birds from bird flu, but was re-opened on April 24 of the same year.
